customer service


the purpose of customer service is to:

	
	1. give information to the customer that they've requested

	2. move the customer's transaction forward, possibly through to completion


		e.g. 	purchasing an item of clothing
			
			applying for a licence of some kind

			depositing cash at a bank branch



try to call back customers who have requested information the same day or the next day at the latest




when saying 'we are working on your request and will let you know when the problem is resolved', 

	or something similar, try to call the customer a maximum of 1 week later



keep in mind that the purpose of the telephone call is to solve the customer's problem and to 

	complete the transaction (opening a bank account etc.)
